Dear Faculty TEAM,
I would like you to know that I am here not only for the students, but for YOU as well. There are many days when you have reached the end of your rope or your questions are not being answered or you feel your classroom management has gone out the window, and you start to question your choice of profession. STOP!!!! RELAX!!!! It's NORMAL, kind of hard to believe but it is and you are NOT the only one who feels this way, we all go through it at some point during our teaching careers. You ask yourself "Am I doing the right thing? Am I reaching this child? Why won't he/she listen? Don't they realize how important an education is to their future? Contact Numbers are disconnected, lack of parent involvement".....I can go on and on....but the bottom line is "you're not alone". If you start to feel overwhelmed please come talk to me or take some time to read some of the information I have posted below. You are here for a reason, whether it is touching one child's life, or all of them, you are here to Make A Difference, believe in yourself and your students, and just remember that the most difficult child in your room, whether it be academics or behavior, is probably the child that needs you the most.
Here are some links to articles and sites that I have found interesting and helpful over the years. If there is a topic not listed or you would like to know more about a particular topic please come see me or email me, whichever you are more comfortable with doing, and I would be glad to help you. There will also be more topics added throughout the school year so check back regularly. Again, please be reminded that not only are my student's counseling sessions confidential but so are yours!
Respectfully,
Ms. Jennifer (Jena) Russell
